Vita is coming to Yountville

July 7th, 2008 · No Comments

For those of you who know the Napa Valley you all know we don’t need another restaurant or another winery.  But they seem to be popping up all over the place.  Vineyard Managers are opening wineries right and left and back door labels are coming out of some of the biggest wineries.  And in Downtown Napa you can essentially walk down 1st Street which is maybe 5 blocks and by the time you are at the end be totally hammered with all the little wine shops popping up.  Now don’t get me wrong the ones that are popping up on 1st street I absolutely love.  I wouldn’t miss Mason or Ceja any day.

And now we have restaurants galore.  Every corner has a restaurant.  Most of them Mexican food but we have our fair share of high end plces to dine.  We live in the land of French Laundy, La Toque, and Auberge Du Soleil.  People we travel with to Disneyworld say OMG the food is so expensive.  We just laugh.  for a meal for two at any sit down restaurant is about the same price as a meal for one here.  So I look at the small little town I work in and say to myself, just what we need another restaurant.  Napa Style was suppose to open in June and is 150 seats.  Michael Chiarello is opening it.  And that is so exciting why.  It isn’t.  I have absolutely no reason in this world to go to this new fabulous restaurant.  But on that note I can not wait for Vita to open.  Laura Cunningham who has consulting ties with The French Laundry and Per Se is opening up an itallian restaurant here.  Now the building she is opening it in is jinxed.  Nothing can stay open there.  The last huge success was a itallian pizza place.  So I wish her all the luck in that aspect.  I personally would tear the building down and start from scratch.  But…… I have attached an article for you all to read about this.  I am just so excited to hopefully have a fabulous itallian restaurant back in our valley. Article.

Until next time…..
