Proposing

April 23rd, 2008 · 2 Comments

A few really close friends are proposing in the next few weeks and I have been roped into helping the both of them. One is very level headed with knowing exactly what he wants. His girl went with him to pick out the ring and I am helping with the actual big event. The other is freaking out about the ring and knows everything else. His girl comes from a very traditional country and it isn’t her job to help him shop for a ring. Because of this I am helping shop for the ring and have found myself in quite the few entertaining conversations. Yesterday alone I had to go save him from himself after work because he was just going crazy. He had been to a store that essentially labeled him as “stupid ring buyer, has money, get him.” Luckly he called me and I told him to back away. But after backing away went and spent over $500 on stupid things at the outlets to make up for it. By the time I got to him he was drunk. Needless to say it made for an entertaining night.

Looking at these two guys though I have been reminded of my engagement process. Mine too started out with a shopping spree, actually for sheets, that turned into a buying of my wedding set. The big day was at Disneyland. I always made a wish at the wishing well and I always wished for the same thing. Well the day my hubby proposed I held my hand out for money and he placed a ring in it. I actually almost threw it in. But that day my wish came true.

I guess what this blog is really about is looking back. Take a minute and look back at your big event. What was so special about it?

Until next time…..

Kim

Can’t look back yet, we are just starting to plan and I think we are going to do it in Disney!

Wow! I’m glad you didn’t throw it in the wishing well. That would have been bad (but a good story to tell the grandkids). I’m still waiting to find the guy for that romantic proposal, but I’d love to have it happen at WDW.
