Just a few hours ago, online sites leaked the upcoming People magazine cover that shows Clay Aiken with his new baby boy and the caption “Yes, I’m Gay.”
Let me get this straight (no pun intended):
There is a presidential election in 42 days, a $700B bailout is on the table for our financial market, we are at war, people are trying to figure out how to afford gasoline, heating oil and prescription medicines, foreclosures are at sky-high levels - dare I go on?
Yet, I predict the media will be all over this “news” for days, like white on rice, even thought it probably comes as little of a surprise to anyone. Like it matters to me what the American Idol shoulda-been does behind closed doors.
C’mon reporters - enough already! Give us news we can use. There are much bigger fish to fry.

Ahh, you see idle (or is it idol LOL) gossip takes our troubles away for a minute or two. I admit to reading People yesterday while waiting in line at the drug store. It was a welcome diversion from hearing about the Wall St. bail out that I have been following closely all week.
I write a shopping/parenting blog. I don’t presume that I am changing the world, just making life a little easier/sunnier for my community.

I think the best yes, I’m gay ever was when Tr Knight said soemthing like “I hope that’s not the most interesting part about me.”
