Goodbye Summer!

September 21st, 2008 · 1 Comment

The classic r&b band, Earth Wind and Fire sang “Do you remember the 21st night of September?”

September 21, 2008 - the last full day of September.   This day always seems to make me sad.   Sad that I didn’t read enough books in a beach chair, I didn’t drink enough frozen margaritas on our deck, try that bright OPI color on my toes, or take enough bike rides with the kids.  Always sad that I wasn’t lazy enough.

But, this year, as summer fades to fall, I’m going to focus on the great things that happened this summer.  The fabulous trip to Arizona, the delicious BLTs made with tomatoes that I picked from our vines in the yard, the great day spent at Hersheypark with my sister’s family, the fragrant, pink daylilies that amazingly reappeared this summer after written off as dead last year.

Until my embroidery floss ankle bracelet, lovingly created by my daughter, falls off, summer is very close in my heart.  There are only 35 weeks until Memorial Day, 2009 - and that’s cause to be happy!

“Bah, dee ah - say do you remember?  Dancin’ in September!”

Make that two counting to next summer. Sounds like you have some great memories to keep you going until the summer rays….the ankle bracelet is the best!
