The Chatter

Installing your new doorknob will be very easy.

What you will need:

-Philips screwdriver

-plastic baggie

-new door knob

Start by attaching the locking mechanism through the side of the door.  Make sure you place the curved part of the latch toward the door frame.  Otherwise it won’t close.  Use your screwdriver to attach the screws.

Next take the front and back of the knobs and place them together with the door sandwiched in between.  There will be long screw guide shafts that you need to match up.

Put the baggie over the doorknob to protect the finish.  Hold the front and back of the knob together as tight as you can.  Use the screw driver to firmly attach the knob.  It is very important that you have it held tightly as you are installing it.  If you don’t, the knob will be wobbly.

Attach the strike plate to the door frame.  Use the old markings from the previous one to make sure you are facing it the right direction.

All done with the knobs.  Next up…changing out the hinges.
