So, after doing everything in life backwards, we already have two kids and we are in the process of rebuilding our house, we have decided to make it official and get married. We have said this for years and figured it is time to do it. Since we both love Disney, I think we are going to do it there!
I called Disney the other day and was not only impressed, but quite surprised at how affordable or elaborate a wedding in Disney can be. Before kids, my career was planning weddings and events. That being said, I never wanted the big formal sitdown reception, that I have planned for so many others. I am more or less looking for something different. I think that a Disney wedding is the perfect way to include our kids and make it magical, now I just how to figure out what to do with our guests and ways to make this special for them also.
More to come on the planning news soon, but in the mean time, I would love any ideas that anyone has! I am considering a welcome reception, maybe Illuminations and an earlier wedding, maybe a brunch or lunch afterwards, however, I am not opposed to an early wedding, park time and then a dinner. I would love to hear what you think!

Sounds great. I think my dream wedding would be a Disney wedding. I hope you’ll post your findings (and especially the costs as I always thought it would be WAY expensive).

We’re having a Disney wedding in January and our budget is $20,000. We’re keeping track of our expenses and planning on our wedding blog: http://budgetdisneywedding.blogspot.com and so far we’re coming in under budget. $20,000 isn’t a small amount of money, but everyone has been really excited about the wedding from the day we started planning. That alone has made it worth it for us!
