Every Monday I step on the scale for my “official” weigh in. I do this in the privacy of my bathroom and have no need to tell or show anyone my progress. While the privacy is nice I don’t get to celebrate with anyone or really see my progress especially if I forget to write it down. So normally Mike gets to hear my joy and celebration when I have a good weight in and my whining and complaining when I have a bad one.
But while numbers on a scale are a good indicator of your progress its hard to visualize what a pound lost really looks/feels like. One tip or hint I learned my first go round with weight watchers was to visualize my loss because after a while 1 pound or half a pound gets kinda boring and discouraging when new joiners are losing their water weight during their first few weeks. So I have picked sticks of butter to represent the weight I’m losing. Yeah it sounds weird but when you think about it but 4 sticks = 1 pound. Its so easy to visualize losing the equivalent to a stick or two of weight each time you jump on the scale. Its also really motivating to think of it that way. So next time you are getting frustrated with a half pound here or pound there think of what a pound actually looks like and get excited that it has “left” your body!
