I have been getting set into my space at my new job, and I have been noticing people’s desk decorations at my new job.  See, back at corporate-land (where I worked when I started this blog, but haven’t for several years), one day a training video was being filmed and  we had to remove all personal effects from our cubes and cube walls.  Our photos, Employee Service Awards, stuffed animals:  all needed to be gone and hidden.  I guess they were afraid it might look like humans worked there or something.

Anyway, my point is that at the new workplace, people who work there personalize like there is no tomorrow.  And everything:  it’s not just bottles of lotion, but bottles of scented lotion in a cute container (one of those silver bath and body works seasonal candle holder thingies).  Or a favorite mug or family photos nearby.  It’s nice to see.  From what I hear, apparently the personalization of cubes is the norm, rather than the other extreme.

My desk is part time, so no decor for me.  I miss being able to decorate for the holidays.  Do you decorate your desk/cube/workspace?

I always FORGET to personalize my desk. I have a picture of my son at a frame… at home… because I NEVER remember to bring it in…
