Holiday shopping prep…

by hedy on September 20, 2012

Over the past year, I have gotten really into buying people gifts which are handmade or personalized, and I plan to continue this habit into the holidays.  As my crafting and DIY skills are minimal to non-existent, I end up buying them either online or at fairs.  In addition to just being cool, pretty, and unique, I find it really great how now people who have an idea or skill can sell their products all over the world via the internet.  Although there are several sites that will let an entrepreneur set up their shop on their site in exchange for talking a chunk of their profits, some people prefer to set up their own websites.

This decision makes sense to me, as it seems as if it would be a lot easier to tell someone who is digging the awesome scent of your candles or your pretty necklace or whatever “You can buy it at SparkleeCr8tionz dot com,” as opposed to “My shop on etsy/ebay/whatever is SparkleeCr8tionz.”  To let them focus on their product rather than their site, it would behoove them to look into an online shopping cart builder and ecommerce site builder to make this as easy as possible on their customers.
