Avoiding paying full price…

Anyone else fee like it’s second nature? While running some errands yesterday, I popped in Bath and Body Works to grab my free hand sanitizer.  I only picked that up, which is crutial to having the whole “free” thing wor for you.  The cashier was impressed by the coupon.  I saw a half-dozen people shopping in the store, and I was wondering how many, if any, were missing on the chance for someting free.

Today I was ordering tickets for a Broadway show (Billy Elliot).  The best place to go when you’re looking for a discount on theater tickets in New York is Broadway Box, although I also recommend signing up for Playbill‘s e-mails.  I had hoped to be able to use my Audience Rewards points to subsidize my ticket, but I was short.  I checked out Broadway Box, and saw that they had deals for the mezzanine at $89, I decided to check out how much a balcony seat was.  The most reasonable ticket was $81, so I figured that for a mere $8 I might as well upgrade to the mezzanine.
