Clarisonic Alternative update

by hedy on May 9, 2010

So, since I last posted about looking for a Clarisonic Alternative, I have tried two more mainstream Clarisonic knockoffs.  The first was CVS’ Deep Action Power Cleanser version of the Neutrogena Wave.  The second is SEPHORA COLLECTION Face Complexion Brush.

I’d been curious to try the Wave, so I was excited to find the Powder Cleanser.  Upon first glance, it looked pretty cool-you could either put your cleanser (I used Mario Badescu’s acne cleanser) into it directly, or you could put it on the outside of the cottony pad.  I liked that it was relatively compact.  However, I ended up returning it to CVS about one week after I bought it-you need a new little pad every time you use it.  I’d thought I could economize by popping a cotton round on the cleanser, but that did not work.  I saw no difference in my skin.

I’ve tried face brushes before, so I decided to give Sephora’s a go.  In my opinion, it does a better job exfoliating that most scrubs on the market, but doesn’t quite have the build-up clearing power the toothbrush does
