I hit up the outlets on Saturday

by hedy on February 23, 2010

I went with my mother, who needed undergarments.  I was looking for a dress for Easter/my upcoming cruise.  I also had some birthday money which wanted to be spent at Cosmetics Company Outlet (CCO).  I browsed in the GAP Outlet, which had nothing amazing.  However, if you’re a fan of the old-school scents like Heaven and Dream, you can find them there.  I then headed to CCO.  CCO is the best place to pick up Estee Lauder brands like Clinique and MAC.  I debated what to get, they had the two palettes from the Hello Kitty collection there for $26.50, plus their lipglasses are only $10.   I ended up with the Spring Bean lustreglass, and a gift set of two eye shadows, a slimshine lip color, mascara, illuminating powder and a blending brush (the gift set was only $41.50).  I also noticed that they now sell Flirt! cosmetics at CCO.  Flirt! is owned by Estee Lauder, and is sold at Kohls. However, the prices on the Flirt! stuff was not exactly mind-blowing (there was the time when Jane, which is my all-time favorite drugstore make-up brand and was then owned by Estee Lauder, was sold at CCO for $1 a piece). I briefly passed by the Coach outlet (they’ve been sending me 20% coupons on a weekly basis.  Not only was there a line with barriers outside the store, the line was so long I saw a dude taking a photo of it on his iPhone.

My mother then headed into the Talbots outlet which was new to us.  She ended up out shopping me (!), but getting some awesome buys.  I popped into the Hot Topic outlet (there’s a joke in there…).  I saw some of the Alice in Wonderland merchandise.  Honestly, a lot of it looked kind of cheap, there was nothing that really jumped out at me.  (Where am I going to wear Cheshire Cat ears?)  The Percy Jackson merch, which was the reason I’d gone in, was pretty yawn-worthy as well.  I asked the clerk if they ever get any Torrid stuff (as Torrid is owned by Hot Topic).  He replied no, “As they are a plus-size line.”  Um, what?  I will say, though, that th Bella New Moon dress is stunning, and I hate the color green.

I grabbed some cheap stuff at Lindt, and m mother had wrapped up at Talbots, so we headed home.
