Yesterday, I got an interesting mailing from Gap Card.  From October 1 to October 4, they are offering 30% off of regularly price items, and 15% off of sale items-AKA, the usual Friends and Family discount.  I find this info noteworthy because a) at least for this promotion, it’s limited to Gap card holders and one “friend” (I don’t know if it was extended to Old Navy* or Banana Republic card holders), b)it’s exclusive to Gap stores-no Old Navy or Banana Republic stores, not even GAP outlets.  I wonder if popularity has caused Gap to try this, or what (before this year, the only time I saw a public friends and family code was post-9/11).

*Incidentally, I learned that every Tuesday you can get 10% off at Old Navy if you use your Gap card (at least in-store).
