Possible subtitles for this post were Epic!Fail and yes, it is possible for something to both suck and blow. I love Food Network, but am ambivalent on Sandra. One thing that’s always goaded me about her is how she’s all “America’s Second Harvest-I teach people nutritional skills!” then turns around and makes a meal with an ungodly amount of fat and sodium. Anyway, I was curious to see her new show, Sandra’s Money Saving Meals. There’s 30 minutes of my life I’ll never get back. Not only were her tips asinine (buy day old bread! Buy store brand biscuits!), but her meal ideas were junky and uninspired. In short, I commend Food Network for trying to stick with the times, but I don’t recommend the show.

Agreed! This morning she was on the Today show cooking a giant pork roast in the slow cooker. Her advise? Leave as much of the fat on it as possible.
I get that pork easily dries out in the cooker, but the fat that she recommended leaving on was just as easily replaced by the
1. golden margarita
2. orange marmalade
3. soy sauce
4. onions
seriously? I just don’t get her.
