That’s not a bad idea. I wear contacts, so an annual exam is a must. I could make self-pay work for me, but I’ve always had vision coverage.

My recomendation for vision is to go self-pay if you have reasonable eye health and get check ups every two years and make glasses last longer than that. I recommend self-pay even more if you don’t need corrective eye-wear..
