Overthinking-again?

September 20th, 2008 · 3 Comments

So, I decided I wanted go to one of our local fall gatherings tomorrow-I’m deciding between our regional fair, and the Renaissance festival.  At first, I was having sticker shock at the entrance cost of the Renaissance festival ($23 after coupon), but then I stopped to consider.  Given the fair is on the other side of the state, despite the lower entrance cost ($15-if I were responsible I would have gotten the AAA tickets at $10 ahead of time at my AAA office.)  Since I wasn’t satisfied saying “I bet the Ren faire is cheaper given the cost of gas, I ran the numbers, based upon what Gasbuddy.com says is the current cost of gas.  I calculated that getting to the Ren Faire will cost $10.51-KR faire, whereas the fair will cost $20.70.  So, entrance and transport to the Ren faire is $33.51, whereas the county fair is $35.70.  So I’m going to the Ren faire.

You are a riot. I wouldn’t have thought to break it down to decide which fair to go to. Are you trying to decide between the KA fair and Topsfield or BE?
I love Topsfield so much I haven’t missed a year except when I was in labor with my daughter…kinda hard to make that one.

Let me know how KA is, we are going the 11th!

I love Ren. Festivals (of course I’m an English teacher so I better…LOL). We are actually taking an entire day off of school and taking all of our students this year in grades 9 through 12. I can’t wait.

I went to King Richard’s Faire over the Big E. It was good, but kind of spendy.
