Two money-saving victories

I’m generally a shopper who tries to get either generics or free after Extra Care Bucks (ECB’s) at CVS for a lot of items. One item I had been firm about avoiding generics and free offers was ACT flouride mouthwash-ACT has a self-measuring cap. Other brands had a normal pour cap, which leads to wasted mouthwash, and leaves a scaly buildup on the bottle and bathroom. However, Listerine recently released their Smart Rinse. While marketed towards children, Smart Rinse has a self-measuring cap. Yay! To improve matters, it was free after Extra Care Bucks last week, and I’d picked up a $1 off coupon from the paper. Now, I’m not one of those hard-care CVS folks, but getting paid for mouthwash is pretty nice.

Another recent budget discover I have made came courtesy of the Naturally Curly boards. I really like Sebastian Potion 9 as a leave-in, but it’s pricey-I was happy when I got it for $10 at Nordstrom Rack when visiting a friend in Chicago. But thanks to the Naturally Curly boards, I found out that Sally Beauty makes a generic version that works as well-yay!
