I’ve been on a Verizon Wireless family plan with my mother for the past four years. My new every two through Verizon is up in July, and I’ve been browsing phones in the meantime. My current LG phone is capable, but I want to something a little chicer (my 13 year old niece has a cooler phone than I do, which I hate to admit bites my pride). I’ve been deciding between the eV2 (in maroon) and the LG Venus, as I wanted something a bit more high-tech. I’d considered smart phones, but was frustrated by Verizon’s lack of an affordable data plan for something I consider to be a non-essential expense. Today, I happened upon an article that Verizon Wireless is introducing its version of the Palm Centro for a mere $99. I figured the same data cost issues would apply, then I saw the golden phrase at the bottom of the article “…For $29.99 per month customers can add Verizon Wireless’ Email and Web for Smartphone service, an unlimited monthly data plan for Web browsing and email support, including personal email accounts.” Squee! Yes, it’s $30 more than I was spending for cell service, but I think it’ll be worth it. So I’m now seriously considering the Palm Centro by Verizon. I’ve had two Palm pilots and liked them, so I’m fairly trusting of the software. Any thoughtS, dear readers?
