Last week I was fortunate enough to participate in a roundtable with other industry professionals and a company called 2Checkout.com. Honestly, I had never even heard of them before and was uncertain what I could add to the discussion.
While there, we discussed 2Checkout launching a full affiliate program based on their product catalog (which is huge). The concept will be fabulous for smaller merchants who want to get their products out to the public. As a small business owner, this especially appealed to me.
I had a number of takeaways from the meeting, but I will share just a few with you.
1) It is always a good thing to network with others in your industry because you never know what you will learn.
2) Affiliates should be using Instant Messaging to form closer relationships with their merchants.
3) The affiliate industry is still growing and changing with every passing day. Keep your eyes and ears open to stay on the cutting edge because it moves fast.
