Supposedly, today is going to be one of the biggest online shopping days of the year. Not coincidentally, it is one of the last days to be able to order items and have them shipped standard and still arrive by Christmas.
As someone who did ALL of my shopping online this year (with the exception of stocking stuffers), I have a few tips to pass along.
First, try to shop at places where you can group items for a number of different people on your list. I was able to do this at Kohls, Amazon, DeepDiscount.com, Disney Shopping, and Barnes and Noble. It was easy to hit the minimum amounts for free shipping.
Second, look for online coupons before you even start your shopping. Sometimes just scanning a list of coupons and finding a 20% off will help you make up your mind what you want to buy for someone. And some of the bargains are fantastic this year!
Third, keep a good list for yourself. I use an Excel spreadsheet. But you can always just use a scratch pad. One of the pitfalls of shopping online is that you can overshop because you don’t physically see everything until it arrives. So be sure to keep track of everything that you are ordering.
Here are a few of my favorite merchants this year: Cheryl & Co (for sending sweet stuff at a good deal), Sephora (for beauty items–and fabulous free samples, not to mention great wrapping), Mrs. Prindables (for a gourmet item that is a little higher priced but unique and decadent), Ice.com (for jewelry at a great price and free overnight shipping).
I could go on and on, but we both have shopping left to do!

Great tips. Another great suggestion that I tend to do this time of year when I am ordering is keep a spreadsheet on merchants, order numbers, shipping date, shipping method, and tracking number so that I can keep track of what is on the way and what I need to be on the look out for.
