There are always so many good movies out this time of year.  New Moon from the Twilight Series  was AWESOME! It followed the book much better than the first movie.

Old Dogs with Robin Williams and John Travolta is one I want to see hopefully tomorrow.  It looks hilarious.  Some friends saw it and said they have not laughed that hard in ages. 

2012 looks like it will be a great movie also.  It certainly should keep you on the edge of your seat.

I decided to give Low Carb a chance.  I knew I needed to get my weight back down, but dreaded dieting again.  It gets old fast.  I usually keep a pretty good check on my weight and just work on it if I put on a few pounds.

Based upon a friend’s recommendation, I bought the book “The Carbohydrate Addict’s Diet” a few weeks ago.  I was pleasantly surprised at how easy the plan was to use. 

You basicaly follow low carb for two meals and then if you want you can have a free meal each day to eat absolutely anything you want as long as you do it within 60 minutes so your body only releases insulin one time.

I started on November 9 and it is now November 28.  I am down 20 lbs already! It was really easy too.  I am so excited.  I had planned to reach that milestone by Christmas and I am 4 weeks ahead of schedule! How cool is that? I have set my next little milestone to be at 35 lbs by Christmas.  Hopefully I will make that one too. Then I will be at my halfway mark. 

Check out the book…it is a great way to lose weight.  Remember to drink lots and lots of water!

Are you ready? I certainly am not.  But, in this economy, Christmas for our family will be short and sweet.  One gift each is the limit this year which is much different from last year.  Hopefully people will finally remember what Christmas is really about.

I do not think it will hurt any of us to cut back on Christmas spending.  We  need to appreciate each other instead of trying to outspend the other.  I look forward to spending time with my family above any gift I may receive.

Why does life have to be so crazy? Just when you think you are going to get caught up or a little ahead something else happens.  At least that is the way it is with me.

Since my mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s a couple of months back, life has gotten crazier and crazier.  Watching her decline is very hard on me and my family.  I hate every single second of it.  Alzheimer’s is a cruel disease.  It knows no rules.  It does not care what medications you are spending every cent you have on. 

It is just a horrible disease.  Especially when mom knows what is going on and what the outcome will be.  It breaks my heart to watch her struggle and get so frustrated with herself.  She forgot my birthday last month.  I am an only child and this really got her down.  I told her it was no big deal.  But, that did not make her feel any better.

I was told today by her therapist that we need to start getting our stuff together to see about getting ready to put her in an assisted living home.  She told me to have everything ready…to know what medicare will pay to know what our options are.   She said to have it all in a folder so that when the time comes it will be less chaotic.  I do not see her being able to afford it since she cannot even afford her medications right now. 

I am not sure what we will do.  Prayer is the best thing for us.
