The Active Family

The anticipation has been killing me. I haven’t been this excited for a vacation since our Disney trip last August.

Er.

Actually, that WAS our last vacation!

This week has flown by, with me cleaning the house like a mad lady, doing mountains of laundry, and packing bag after bag. I think we did well though, as I was able to fit everyone’s clothes into 3 bags (the older kids have their own little suitcases), 2 small boxes for toiletries and camping needs, and one larger box for linens and towels. How we are going to fit everything into my truck is a different story. That one will have to wait until tomorrow though!

Today I spent my day finalizing the bags, separating the kids, and switching up music on our ipods. The only one in the house who doesn’t have one is the baby, and technically he listens to DD’s when she attaches it to her speakers. (Super cute, by the way, it’s a stuffed frog that plays the music through speakers in it’s ears.)

Tomorrow we are packing up the truck, and hoping like hell our stimulus check comes in the mail before we leave. I hate the thought of it hanging around while we are gone!

I can’t wait to make it up to the lake. My dad says the first thing we do is park the cars, unload the chairs and have a cold beer by the lake. Unpacking and setting up comes later! Tune in for our trip report!
