Update on My Life in a Sick Bubble

August 2nd, 2008 · 1 Comment

Well, I’m alive. That’s about the best I can say about the past week. After taking care of the kids, I somehow found myself with the worst case of Strep throat I can remember.

This week, my 12 year old has basically run my house, as I was laid up with 104 degree temps and a throat so sore I couldn’t even stand drinking water. I was a mess at the doctors, shivering so hard I could barely write the check!

I’m definately better now. I actually was able to work this morning, so I’m quite tired. I’ve also been slowly introducing food back to my stomach, since my throat is still pretty tender. Thank goodness for the new Vivanno shakes at Starbucks! They were quite literally the only form of nutrition I had all week.

I mentioned above that my 12 year old ran my house. Anyone who has a 12 year old, or ever did, knows that “running” the house is a very loose term for “destroying” the house. I can’t complain all that much, as he did a really great job entertaining his ounger siblings while I was comatose. So to add to all my post vacation chores, I also have to scrub my living room floors, go food shopping again, tackle mountains of laundry, and get everyone ready for school! Woohoo! Oh, and I still haven’t ordered our passports for our October Cruise! I really have to get on that one…

So in essence, I wanted to excuse myself for the awful time I’ve had keeping up with my trip diary. I can (almost) promise this week will be much better!
