Our Maine Trip: Back to the Diary!

August 4th, 2008 · No Comments

Since I am now completely recovered from my illness, I can get back to business.

When I left off, I was describing our cabins. Lakeside Cedar cabins are located right on Graham Lake in Ellsworth, ME. There are 9 cabins, two of which were occupied by my family and my parents. Each cabin has 2 small bedrooms, a sitting area, kitchen, dining table, bathroom, and screened porch. While not huge, there was plenty of room for my family of 5. One of the bedrooms even had space for the pack n play that my son DID NOT SLEEP IN. hmph.

Obviously, these cabins aren’t built for year round use, big screen windows and no insulation, but they do come with a small wood stove for use on chilly damp spring and fall nights. We didn’t need to use them this trip! The cabins are fairly close together, but you still have privacy. There is also plenty of grassy area for the kids to play, a central fire pit, and two boat docks.

Our first few hours were spent unpacking and scouting. The kids quickly found the small game room, and were relentless in begging to go fishing. We didn’t start that night, but the next day was different. We rounded the night off with some grocery shopping, and general relaxation. Ahhhh….this was a vacation!
