For the LOVE of Pete.
Whoever he is. I am officially the parent to a preteen. I thank God that it is my stepson first and not my daughter. I shudder at the thought of her as a teen. Heck I shudder at the thought of her at 6!
What’s the problem? Where do I start? The eyerolls, the whining, the sulking, the LAZINESS. Ugh. If this is an indication of how the teen years are going to go, I want off this crazy train RIGHT NOW!
My stepson is a great kid. Really! But it’s like someone flipped a switch. Can boys get PMS? I swear that is just how he acts. He already knows everything, so lord knows what he’ll throw at me next. Gee I just can’t wait for those teen years!
Oh yeah, and Thanks bunches Mom, for the smirk. I know, payback is a bitch. But I’m too young for payback!!!!!

LOL! I so feel your pain! I am truly scared to enter the teen years. I have a 12 year old almost 13 right now and just the glimpse of what’s in store is terrifying!! Hang in there though. Be consistent and don’t forget that you love that child! I have to remind myself often! LOL!

K,
Do you know any what to expect while your loved one is tweening resources? ElderNephew is a couple months younger than your DSS, and oy! Love the kid, hate what he’s going through (I doubt its much fun for him, either).
