Sigh. I think those words are my anthem of the summer. My kids have been driving me absolutely CRAZY from the very minute school let out.
No….seriously. After my oldest got home from school at 11:30 that last day, it only took 45 minutes for me to completely lose it, and send both of them to their rooms, while screaming my lungs out. 45. minutes.
I should have known then that this summer would be a trying one.
First off, I have an extra kid this summer. I’ve agreed to have my friend’s son over all summer so he won’t be home alone. Unfortunately, though close in age, he and my son don’t get along very well. Also, my oldest tends to be very emotional, and constantly feels like the world is against him. Drama, Drama, Drama.
It doesn’t help that my dd feels the need to torment him. She treats him like her slave, pitching a fit when he doesn’t jump to meet her current demands. Out of all of them, the baby is by far the easiest, though having everyone around has royally messed with his napping schedule.
Whatever. I’m roughly halfway through the summer, and already seeing the wonderful back to school sales going on. Nothing warms my heart more than thinking of that blessed day, September 4th.
Mind you, I’ll probably be back on here blubbering on about my dd starting full day kindergarten, so cut me a little slack. I’ll be rejoicing and suffering a little bit of mommy heartbreak all at the same time.
So here’s to all the parents this summer….I always say school vacations are why God made alcohol….teeheee…..
