What a weekend! My “baby” turned 4 this Saturday, and I can’t remember a weekend where we had so much planned. It began Friday, I had a laundry list of things to accomplish, and between surprise visits from family and friends, to ridonkulous traffic, I barely got anything done. My husband needed to be picked up from work…in Boston…at rush hour. Not cool. Then my daughter had a soccer game, which I THOUGHT we had plenty of time to get to. Obs I wasn’t taking into consideration the freaking traffic. We made the game by the skin of our teeth, and I was stressed to the max. I will admit to a slight mommy melt down. That will actually be a trend this weekend.

I think I need a vacation.

After the soccer game we went back to the house, I sent the hubs out for pizza, and we got ready to crash. That was when my teenage son found…..dun dun duuuuuuuuhn…a zit.

You would think the world was coming to an end. It was the tiniest little red spot, but to him it was the end of his life. He began pestering me for the best acne treatments I knew of, and before I knew it had the nastiest goop plastered on his face. I think he mixed toothpaste with sugar or olive oil or something equally nasty. Where the heck does he get these wacko ideas?

Saturday was a riot of movement. We took the kids to Disney on Ice for the boy’s birthday. After that, Fire + Ice, came home to a house full of balloons and cake courtesy of my bestie. Finished up the evening with an incredible display of fireworks put on by the town for our town festival.

Sunday we had church services, the kids started sunday school, The teen boy had a baseball game, and I had a bridal shower, all scheduled within an hour of each other. Oi.

After the shower, game, and hubs taking the kids to the festival, we met family again for more cake and ice cream, then finished the night with another couple taking a financial class with us.

I stayed in the same dress and heels from 7:30 am to 9:30 pm. I c.r.a.w.l.e.d. into bed. And I don’t recall falling asleep. Thank goodness I was able to!
