Today started off a lot better than yesterday, sort of!
I was up at 8 (okay…8:20) and got ready for Pilates. Ready to walk out the door and realized my darling husband has my set of keys in his jacket! Grrrr.
I was really tempted to plant it on the couch and surf the web, but I remember yesterday’s fiasco, and my desire to actually wear the bikini I bought for the summer. So I went through my extensive collection of workout dvds, and chose Denise Austin Blast Away 10 lbs. See my review here.
I really worked it hard, following the entire first section of kickboxing, and then began the second section, interval training. I really just wanted to do the weight traing parts so I fast forwarded through the cardio parts, while still moving briskly. All in all, I kicked it for 45 minutes. I tried to do a Pilates AB vid, but the baby likes to crawl on my belly when I’m on the floor, so I’ll wait until he naps to do it. Est calories burned: 339
I had my usual breakfast afterwards, minus the OJ. So 1 serving lowfat cottage cheese with 1 serving diced peaches, drained. I also drank 1 20oz bottle water, so total cals:140.
Starting the day off right!
For lunch I made a rice and veggie bowl. All counted, total cals come in at 250! No excuses not to try this one, it was ready in under 10 minutes. I also ate it with chopsticks, so it lasts a long time.
I ended up short of my water goal, but I still did pretty well calorie wise. For dinner I had the second half of my rice and veggie bowl, so another 250 calories. I also volunteered to wash the floors at work, which involves a lot of heavy lifting, moving fridges, and I made sure to keep in my abs and butt the whole time. I estimated about 150 calories burned doing that.
So while I didn’t quite burn off everything I consumed, I did a hell of a lot better than the day before, and that’s what really matters to me. See if I can keep it up tomorrow!
