I received an email from one of my subscriptions today that was too great to keep to myself. It detailed a bunch of truly great lunch ideas for elementary school age kids.
The lunches made great use of the “laptop lunchbox“, which I happen to already have. While pricey, it gives you the ability to portion […]

Stop Bitchin and Get Movin!
June 26th, 2008 · 3 Comments
Sorry for the harsh title, but I’m tired of hearing people complain about their bodies, all while scarfing down a Big Mac with Fries.
Take control of your life, and your body already! Choose the side salad over the fries, and cut your portions back. Get off the couch and go for a walk instead of […]

Cool Drinks for a Hot almost Summer Day
June 19th, 2008 · No Comments
I’m a drinker.
There, I said it. Sometimes my drinks include alcohol, most of the times they don’t. Since I am moving towards a clean living/eating lifestyle, I limit my alcohol consumption. Plus, you can always count on my to lug a bottle of water around, drinking it whether it is hot, cold, or room temperature.
I’m […]

Our Family Trip: Ellsworth Maine Part II
June 18th, 2008 · No Comments
Today was, and is, my meal planning day. I don’t really plan each day out down the line, but rather, I figure out a general plan for the week and gather the ingredients that I’ll need.
On vacations like these where I don’t have access to my own kitchen, I like to try to overlap as […]

Surviving The Tomato “Crisis”
June 17th, 2008 · No Comments
Okay, so “crisis” might be a bit dramatic, but the current situation regarding the salmonellosis outbreak has people talking. Granted, those who don’t care for tomatoes are thrilled, not having to ask for no tomatoes in their whoppers. I personally love love LOVE tomatoes, and was really stressed when I first heard of the recalls. […]

Exercise Journal: 4/28

Today started off a lot better than yesterday, sort of!
I was up at 8 (okay…8:20) and got ready for Pilates. Ready to walk out the door and realized my darling husband has my set of keys in his jacket! Grrrr.
I was really tempted to plant it on the couch and surf the web, but I […]

A Day At The Zoo…
April 23rd, 2008 · No Comments
Today I took my 3 kiddos to the Roger Williams Park & Zoo in Providence RI. It’s a great little zoo, lots of different animals to see. It is compact, and smaller than other zoos I’ve been to, but it fills a day, and you don’t miss anything!
The kids had a blast. My youngest was […]

I Heart Iced Tea!
April 16th, 2008 · No Comments
It’s another of my “addictions”. When I was pregnant, I drank so much iced tea I would get heartburn! While I try to stick to decaf at home, it is rarely possible to do that in the real world. Also, I realise that tea isn’t all that much better for you than coffee. Sure it has […]
