Biking with a little one.

March 17th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Since one of my fitness goals this year is to get back into biking, I’ve been checking out different types of bike seats. I’m not thrilled with the rear mount seats as I am a smaller person and I’m afraid the center of gravity will be off. As I was searching the web I came across one product in particular that I think I’ll be purchasing.

It is through the company Ibert and it is called the the Safe-T-Seat. It is a front mounted seat that secures your child behind the handlebars. There appears to be lots of room for your legs, and I love the idea that my son will be in front of me where I can interact with him and also watch for his safety better. From the reviews I have seen, the center of gravity doesn’t change so it is very easy to steer and place your child into and out of the carrier. You can view the carrier at http://www.ibertinc.com/.

I’m really looking forward to trying this out, and I’ll post my thoughts after I use it a bit.

If anyone is interested in reading more about child carriers or bike trailers, a good resource is http://www.ibike.org/education/infant.htm.

By the way, this isn’t a sponsored post, and I am in no way affiliated with this company, I am just interested in the product!

Oh that sounds like a great idea. I remember going biking with my mom when I was younger and being strapped into the back of the bike. It was such fun.
