I’ve had this dvd for quite some time, and it is one I go back to time and again. The dvd contains 2 20 minute workouts, which is pretty much all the time I have once I get the baby down for a nap. It is a light martial arts/kickboxing inspired workout, Denise Austin style. While others may not be a huge fan, I really enjoy her style. I like how she gives modifications for harder exercises, and tells her audience what they should be feeling if they are doing the exercise correctly. The one major drawback is that Denise frequently miscues the current exercises, and sometimes will just jump to a new one without saying anything! This is pretty typical for her though, and once you watch the dvd a few times you won’t even notice.
The first workout focuses more on the martial arts aspect, toning and strengthening. She focuses on legs, arms and butt! There is a lot of kicks and punches in this one, so make sure your have plenty of room!
The second workout is a heart rate booster, kickboxing style. It is done in intervals, so it isn’t terribly challenging, but you get a really nice burn. Denise also integrates light weights in the workout, which I really love. Women really don’t get enough weight lifting in thier routines.
This is one of my favorite workout dvds for home. It is quick, gets my heart rate up, and gives me some nice weight training. It is a great choice for those who can fit in a quick workout in the morning or EARLY evening when they get home. It really wouldn’t be a good idea to do this one too late at night, as it will get your blood pumping!
You can find this dvd in many stores, although it has been out for some time. There are some really great prices at amazon, which is how I get many of my fitness dvds.
