Active Review: Belly Butt and Thighs

by nicholmom3 on June 11, 2008

Today is even hotter than yesterday, with temps reaching the upper 90′s, but I still hit the mat to try out one of my newest fitness dvd finds. Today I had my butt kicked by Prevention Fitness Systems Express Workout – Belly Butt & Thighs

What woman today doesn’t need to work on these areas? Heck even women in my class complain about these very spots even though they are seriously yummy mummies. This is another one of those customizable workouts, where each segment is only ten minutes!! The routines are challenging, yet you know you can get through them since they are over so quickly. I attempted to do all three in succession, but my legs are killing me from my 6 mile walk yesterday, so I made it through the first two, and then bailed after 3 minutes of the last. Tomorrow though, I will START with the thighs, and maybe alternate days where I do all three.

All you need for this workout is a mat and handweights, though the beginner modifications go without the weights. I found I could do most of the exercises as is, only using a couple of the modifications. This is a really great workout! You get your heart pumping, and since the segments are so short, the instructor really pushes you to move.I do wish they added more weight training in the mix, but since it focuses on the lower body, I guess they did what they could.

This routine did show me some unique moves that I’m pretty excited about. I’ll be showing my instructor some new stuff on Thursday to add to our normal routine. I’m one of those geeks who get excited over new exercises. There are worse things I guess!

To wrap up, Prevention Fitness Systems Express Workout: Belly, Butt, and Thighs gets two thumbs up. And a thigh.

And maybe I’ll toss in a glute for good measure. Pick it up today and find an easy and QUICK way to squeeze in some exercise!
