I’ve nearly made it to the end of January and have been sticking tight to every goal so far. I’ve been doing very well with my self propelled Weight Watchers, and have lost 5 pounds so far. I have been exercising more regularly, and I am pleased to announce my biggest problem is that my [...]

Sunday, Funday
January 25th, 2010 · No Comments
It used to be in our house that we spent our Saturdays out and about, having fun and just otherwise spending time together. Then Sundays were reserved for Church and either dinner at Nana’s or cleaning up the house.
This weekend we switched that around, stayed IN on Saturday (not that we did much cleaning) and [...]

Smells like Teen Spirit
January 25th, 2010 · No Comments
Or….teen feet. Blech.
My oldest is 14, and we are all suffering. Between the attitude and the BO and the attitude and the sudden fondness for Axe spray, I think I have found the source of early balding. Thankfully, the BO is relegated to just his feet, we solved that by keeping his sneakers in his [...]

Medical History Forms…they want to know whaaaat?
January 21st, 2010 · No Comments
I’ve had a few patients ask me recently why we need to know certain information on the medical history forms they fill out. Occasionally they question why we need to know about back pain and knee replacements, but the puzzler for them is the query on Ephedra and other weight loss products.
I can see why [...]

I hate Winter skin.
January 21st, 2010 · No Comments
Seriously. I am 30 years old, and I have been breaking out like a teenager. My skin can’t decide if it wants to be dry as a bone, or super nasty oily. Day to day it is different.
I am a daily user of moisturizer, with SPF of course, but even that doesn’t seem to be [...]

First, I have found it is imperative that the [...]

A quick Haiti update!

Amazingly, a 5 year old boy was just pulled from the rubble alive after 7 and half days. After yesterday’s 77 year old rescue, I thought for sure that would be it. That little boy has so far survived incredible odds, and I hope he continues to recover.

Still on my island kick
January 20th, 2010 · No Comments
Watching the movies didn’t really help. It’s just been too long since my last vacation, and I really need a break. I’m not asking for an expensive vacation, in fact, just the opposite. I need a quiet vacation where I can just lay on a hammock sipping a cold beverage, and read, read, read, read.
I’ve [...]

A New Deal
January 20th, 2010 · No Comments
Well, Massachusetts voters certainly had their voices heard yesterday. I am so proud that over half of the registered voters turned out to make their choice. While I have my own concerns, I think the important lesson we need to take from this is that the politicians really need to start LISTENING to their people!
For [...]
