Valspar on the Walls

May 23rd, 2008 · No Comments

I wish all of you could see my newly painted walls.  After seven years in our home, we have finally decided to paint our bedroom, bonus room and two bathrooms.  We built our home in 2001, and have never taken the leap into color.  I guess that’s mostly because I’m indecisive.  I can never decide which color or style we should go with.  So, consequently, the walls have been flat-drywall white for years.  All that has changed now though.  A couple of weeks ago, I put out my feelers for professional painters, because we just do not have the time it takes to do a 2-4 day project without dragging it out for weeks.  Who wants their house torn up for that long?  I got a couple of referrals from friends and had some estimates done.  I was pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive it was to just hire someone to do the work for you.  I recommend seeing pictures of your contractor’s work and personally interviewing them before you contract the job.  I have been very pleased with our painter, and he has charged us less than $1000 to paint probably 1200 sq ft of our home.  We, of course, purchased our own paint.  We shop at Lowe’s for all of our home improvement needs and really like the Valspar Signature brand paint.  It has a lifetime warranty and looks beautiful on the walls.  The color is gorgeous and the paint is top quality.  At less than $30 per gallon, it is also very economical.  We use a satin finish, and have been very pleased with our ability to clean the walls that we have painted in the past.  If you are doing a painting project, check out the product offerings a Lowe’s.  I’m sure you’ll find just what you need, and the customer service is top notch.  If you live in the southern half of Indiana and need a painter for your own projects, contact Todd McCutcheon.  His work is excellent.  He is also very personable and eager to take care of your painting concerns.  I know that he will be doing at least two more big projects in my home very soon!
