Instant Russian Tea

December 12th, 2007 · 2 Comments

What a treat!  I joined a girlfriend of mine at a ladies’ Christmas tea last evening.  While there, I was presented with a small gift.  The organizers wanted to encourage us to take time to relax this holiday season.  The gift was a couple of bath beads, some candles and a bag of Instant Russian Tea.  We were then invited to make another bag of tea on our own to present to a friend.  The recipe was so easy and sounded yummy.  I made some and set it aside as I continued to enjoy my evening away from kids and chores.

This morning in the hustle and bustle, I remembered the tea.  I decided to give it a try.  I heated a cup of water and added my homemade tea mix.  It was delightful.  I am not normally a hot tea drinker, but I may be a convert.  It warmed me up and calmed me down!  I thought you all might like the recipe.  Enjoy!

Instant Russian Tea

2 cups Tang

3/4 cup Plain Instant Tea

1 cup Sugar

1 tsp. Cinnamon

1/3 cup Instant Lemonade

1/2 tsp. Ground Cloves

1/2 tsp. Allspice

Mix everything together and store in a glass container with a tight fitting lid.  Use 3 teaspoons of mix for every 8 ounces of hot water.  This makes a nice gift.  Pair it with a beautiful tea cup and a couple of treats to remind your friends to take time to relax.
