Ugh!! I do not know if it is this way everywhere, but I have now worked for two different districts and both have had a hard time keeping up with the school vehicle keys or knowing who is going where and when. At least half of the time that I am scheduled for a school vehicle we have to hunt down the keys - it never fails. Earlier this week was even more interesting (thankfully it did not actually include me), but we had three events leaving on the same day - the golf team, tennis team, and softball team. I just happen to have morning duty. We have a van and a car and then of course buses. It was very interesting to stand back and watch the adults bargain over who was going to take which vehicles. There were only 4 golf students so they decided to take the car and leave the larger vehicles for the other teams. All 4 students were male so piling into the car was going to be a tight squeeze, but even more funny was them trying to cram 5 sets of golf bags in the trunk. They ended up not being able to it in the end and then the coaches went back to trying to work out a plan. I honestly do not know what they decided as the bell rang, and I went to class. But I can not help but think that there has to be a better way to manage this. I know larger schools have more sophisticated systems, but there has to be a system for us small schools. Oh well! The good news is I tend to always get the vehicle I want! ![]()
