We did not start our love for Disney World vacations until Cameron was of walking age. The first time we went, she was 5 and I insisted that she walk or we go back to the hotel and relax if she was tired. I gave her one day in a stroller. It was the day that we did all of Epcot in one day. I had to admit that would even be tiring for my legs. Except for that day, I’m happy to say she was so excited with her surroundings, the idea of a stroller never even came up (I never had to be the bad guy).
According to WDWinfo, stroller rental prices are increasing today (April 6), and they are increasing significantly.
- Single Strollers – Going from $10 to $15 a day (doesn’t seem so bad when you check out the increase in the doubles)
- Double Strollers – Going from $18 to $31 a day
Just thought I’d give a heads up to anyone planning a trip to Disney. If you were planning on using Disney strollers, check your budget and be sure you are budgeting for the correct amount (and personally I’d recommend looking at the cost of buying a stroller as compared to renting. If you are going to be there more than one or two days, I think you’d be better off to go look at strollers in your local Wal-Mart, Target type stores). Also, if you buy a cheaper one that you really don’t want to take home, let me suggest a local charity – Give Kids the World. I know some contacts there who would be glad to come by your Orlando hotel at the end of your vacation, and pick it up for the use of their charity.
