Cameron and I went out yesterday to run some errands and complete a mystery shop, and she convinced me to go and see Horton Hears a Who. I knew we probably wouldn’t go see it if we didn’t go then so at the end of the day, we headed to the theatre, bought tickets and popcorn and settled in for the movie. I wasn’t really looking forward to it, but Cameron had talked about it for days so I was prepared to make it through it.
I was surprised to actually become slightly entertainted by it. It was pretty cute and at times outright funny. What I also noticed though was that it did not hold Cameron’s full attention as I had expected. It seemed at time that she would get sidetracked (which is not normal for her) and then something funny would happen to bring her back into the movie. I think maybe the appeal was more towards younger kids.
If you have children and your family likes to go to the movies, Horton Hears a Who would be a nice one to go see. ![]()

Hmm…I’ll keep this in mind-I have a “date” with the nephews in April-I’d thought it might be too young for them (8 and 12), but I’ll see.

Dr. Seuss is classic; after seeing Horton Hears a Who i remembered how much he packs into relatively simple storylines… they didn’t add much to the original story either except for the usual Jim Carreyisms.
