When I saw this I just had to comment. I had to read this book in AP English in high school as well as in my university English class. And I could not stand it! I normally love classic literature but it is a battle between The Grapes of Wrath and The Scarlett Letter for the worst books I have ever read! Having said that I think it is a great idea to rediscover some classic literature. Looking forward to hearing about more of your reading experiences.
Thanks for the comment. I hate to hear that, but I know we all have our own styles of reading - the book that I rank up there as being one of the worst reads is Great Expectations. I (as I do this one) like the actual story line, but the languge just kills me, and I find it torture to read.
