The Busy Life of a Single Mom

This is my first blog. I am going to try to start adding to this regularly – we will see.
I am a 27 year old single mom. I have one beautiful daughter who is seven years old, and I also have guardianship of a super 16 year old girl. I teach high school English in a small town in Texas. We are 3 hours from any major Texas cities – Houston and Dallas are both three hours away. This makes for lots of traveling.

I grew up in the same small town that I still live in and went to college a whole 40 miles away! We are in the middle of nowhere. You drive an hour to get to almost anything – the movies, a Wal-Mart, a mall (that’s a sad excuse for a mall) – ANYTHING!

Most of my family still live in this area too – my parents and grandparents and some of my siblings still live here as well as some more distant relatives. Most of my siblings have moved away; my sister lives in Dallas and I have two brothers – one who is in the Army and one who travels constantly with his work.
